APPARATUS FOR FLOW RATE MEASUREMENTS WITH HEAD PUMP IN TRANSPARENT PLEXIGLAS
  • A motor-driven pump, mounted on a stainless steel plinth with a water reservoir and pipework for continuous circulation. The pump volute and the water reservoir are manufactured from clear acrylic for maximum visibility. Similarly the pipe runs are made from transparent PVC. Manually operated valves at the pump inlet and outlet allow control of the flow and also facilitate the study of suction effects.
  • The apparatus the comparison between different methods of flow rate measurements.
  • It composed of a hydraulic bench for the water supply,consisting of: Wheeled frame.
Centrifugal electric pump:
  • Power: 0.3 kW at 3000 rpm.
  • Speed of rotation 0 2900rpm with inverter.
  • Capacity: 25 to 80 l/min.
  • Efficiency: 13.9 to 9 m HO.
  • With transparent head for viewing of cavitation phenomena.
Drain tank:
  • Made of stainless material with flat work surface.
Supply tank:
  • Capacity 60 l.
Vacuum gauge:
  • -1 to 3 bar inlet or outlet switchable.
  • With a system of valves for reading.
  • The flow pressures and aspiration for the determination of the load.

Venturi tube:

  • Made of plexiglas.
  • Equipped with pressure taps and piezometric pipes.
  • With the possibility to read the difference pressure on a vertical support panel to the U gauges.

The piping should be composed of:

  • A constant cross-section 100 mm long and 20 mm diameter.
  • A converging section 10mm internal diameter.
  • A divergent section.

Pitot tube:

  • External diameter 3 mm.
  • Water flow pipe, inside diameter 15.5 mm.
  • Usable section of passage equal to 0.000142 m.
  • Possibility of measuring the flow rate when the flow velocity of water creates a significant pressure drop.

Calibrated diaphragm:

  • Two flanged pipes (internal diameter 50 mm).
  • Calibrated diaphragmdi (internal diameter 20 mm).
  • Pressure taps upstream and downstream of the measuring system.
  • Possibility of measuring the pressure drop and by means of the calibration curve to be traced back to the flow.
