LEAF FILTER APPARATUS

Description:

Leaf filters, sometimes called tankfilters, they consists of flat filtering elements (leaves) supported in ashell. The leaves are circular, arc-sided, or rectangular, and they havefiltering surface on both faces. The shell is a cylindrical tank the set-upconsists of flat filtering elements (leaves) supported in a slurry tank. Afilter leaf consists of a perforated plate over which a filter medium of wovenfabric is fitted. The whole assembly is connected to a vacuum pump through afiltrate receiver. An agitator is fitted in the slurry tank. Drain valve isprovided in it. The set-up is operated batch wise.
